Welcome to the Caton United Methodist Church
Spring brings new life in Upstate New York! The grass is greening, the flowers are popping through the ground and the trees are budding. Christ brings new life as we celebrate Easter. With joy we gather with other Christians to run to the tomb and find the "stone has been rolled away." There is new life--Praise The Lord! Check out this video, www. youtube.com/watch?v=pSJWRkr3R8I
Easter Sunday we celebrate "Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!" We find new life for us as individuals and as a community, claiming that God continues to work in our lives. Join in the celebration at 7 AM with Caton UMC at the Sunrise I .Service. We meet at the church and travel to the Elmwood Cemetery to find that the stone has been rolled away and the tomb is empty. Everyone is invited for breakfast following the service.
We continue the celebration with the Prayer & Praise Service at 9 am. We sing our praises led by the praise band, pray together, hear the scripture read and proclaimed. This is an informal service--come as you are!
At 10:30 we gather for the Traditional Service with hymns, organ music, scripture readings and a message, "The Stone Has Been Rolled Away.
Let this Easter bring you new life through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and Friend.
On the journey together
Worship in the Prayer Garden
Caton UMC members join with a team of workers to serve in Union Beach, NJ. We worked rebuilding a church so the community would have a place together after Hurricane Sandy. (April, 2013)
In 2011, members and friends of the Caton UMC with help from area churches raised $10,000 to provide "Water for Nigeria"
A water tanker was purchased and now water is taken to 10 communities in Nigeria. This is one of the holding tanks where people come to get water.
This is a way to provide clean water in the dry season.
